Where to begin... I really don't know. I haven't had a blog since the days of Myspace, since I abandoned my account there in about 2008 and made the move to that other big social networking site, which I find lacking. While your posts are not exactly confined to so many words, other people really don't care for you when you make a posting more than a few sentences long or post loads of cute pictures of your children (I don't have any, I don't want any) - thus the reason for starting this blog. Also you are not exactly anonymous (which I prefer to remain- it gives one so much more freedom), if you do not share your name people will not be able to find you, or attack you because they don't like what you have to say.
Anyway what am I going to blog about? First and foremost I fancy myself a writer, I wrote my first kind- of novel when I was twelve and haven't stopped since. Being unemployed at the moment I have more than my share of free time and I spend a decent portion of it writing. I have a novel in progress and a number of short stories just lying around waiting for someone to read them and I feel greedy for not sharing them, holding them hostage in notebooks locked inside my desk. Keep watching this blog and they will begin to trickle out and hopefully blossom- I need feedback, a sounding board of sorts I hope to create. There may also be a blog or two about issues I feel strongly about or wish to bring to other's attention. Fountain pen repair- yes those mostly forgotten pointy ended writing sticks many people have eschewed in favor of cheap and impersonal products pumped out by a certain company whose name is several letters short of a certain swear (at least here in the 'States). I feel the need to share what I know about repairing old fountain pens into working order again, there are not enough blogs out there that spill what one needs to know. A random photo or two may show up as well.
So welcome new readers, enjoy your stay.
A note about the title of this blog:
It is named after a bad habit of mine that happens to bring me some of my most inspired moments.
I look forward to your meanderings, even as you climb out of your snow bank. Thanks for the info on the Chaplin facebook page. Love it.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. The same person with the FB page also has an amazing Tumblr page as well.
